TORONTO just got Google Street view! So check out the locations from each volume of SCOTT PILGRIM from the comfort of your own home, or if you're in Toronto go ahead and visit them yourself!
I've tried to keep this blog as spoiler-free as possible but be warned if you haven't read all the volumes as you might come across something that you wish you hadn't. Also, I'm not completely done, so consider this blog a work in progress. If you have suggestions, please email me at paulcovello [at] gmail.com

PRECIOUS LITTLE LIFE

Scott & Wallace's

This is the google map of where Scott and Wallace share an apartment based on the Amazon.ca mailing address. I would show you a street view, but I really have no idea where it is exactly or if their place is based on something else entirely.

VS. THE WORLD

Scott Calls Knives

I wasn't sure earlier if this was the right spot since the TD bank is gone but it moved according to Bryan Lee O'Malley. Also "There also used to be actual phone booths instead of little phone kiosk thingies."

Sonic Boom

Oh man, Sonic Boom is the best. If you're visiting Toronto or you live here and have never visited you should definitely go. It sells and buys a wide variety of both new and used CDs, DVDs and games. The best is looking through the trays of new used arrivals for hours while your friends get fed up and annoyed waiting for you.

Suspect Video aka "No-Account Video"

I'm not sure what the exact story is here. I heard that Suspect video wouldn't allow their name to be used in the comic or maybe "No-Account" just sounds cooler. Anyway, it's a good bet that this is what it's based on since it's practically underneath Honest Ed's and steps from the Beguiling. I've only been in there a couple of times just to browse and they've got a massive amount of movies. It's a little dark and even a bit creepy but strikes me as pretty cool.

The Toronto Public Reference Library

An awesome library located near Bloor and Yonge, one of the main hubs of Toronto. It's several floors high and packed with loads of books althoug since it's a reference library, you can't take any out. If you go, be sure to ride the cool elevators all the way up and down.

Casa Loma

I haven't been to Casa Loma since I was toured around it in elementary school. It's a strange building, a sort of fake castle built in the middle of Toronto. It has been the filming location for a bunch of movies including posing as the Xavier Institute For Higher Learning or the X-Mansion or whatever it's called. Every Christmas they dress it up in a sort of theme, I remember attending an Alice in Wonderland one with a creepy giant Jabberwocky and a Dickens Victorian one as well. Casa Loma also features tunnels.

Lee's Palace

Lee's Palace is a very famous venue in the Bloor/Bathurst area. I've been there to see a couple of shows, the last I remember was The Bicycles' Last Shmaltz II. It looks exactly how it does in the comic. For a very good list of other Toronto venues check out this list on Soundscape's website.

VS. NOTES

I've tried to arrange the views to match how the panels are in the comic so you can really notice the details but not everything is perfect. So if I've missed something OR you think I can make something better OR you have something I can add OR you just wanna email me, drop me a line at paulcovello at gmail.com

DISCLAIMER:

Scott Pilgrim, it's characters and story are all the property of Bryan Lee O'Malley. Buy the books through your local comic shop or through Oni Press, which publishes the volumes. "Scott Pilgrim vs. Toronto" is not the name of a Scott Pilgrim volume or some other sort of mystery missing storyline but just the name of this fan blog. I am in no way affiliated with Bryan Lee O'Malley although I did ambush him at the TCAF where he signed my Vol. 1 and I embarrassingly blathered on about Sloan for no reason and he was incredibly nice to do so all the same.

I'm using Google Street View for this blog but again I have no connection to them. Basically I own nothing on this site but I have taken the time to organize everything and write a little bit about each location mentioned.
